Ms. Belton and her violin have been inseparable since the 4th grade. A graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts, she performed with Earth, Wind, and Fire, Jennifer Holliday, and Smokey Robinson while attending there. She graduated with a Music Education degree from the University of the District of Columbia in 2018 and is currently working on her Masters.
She's had the pleasure of performing with D.C based R&B singer, Ayanna Blue and was invited to Cuba in January 2020 to perform in the 35th Annual Havana Jazz Festival. There she shared the stage with Jazz singer, Karen Lovejoy & Afro Cuban pianist, Leyanis Valdes. She also performed for former mayor of Baltimore, Sheila Dixon at a campaign gala presented by Kromah Gallery in Baltimore, MD in 2019. She's had the pleasure of being a member of Robert Glasper's Black Radio Orchestra as well as performing with DJ D-Nice for his Club Quarantine performance at the Kennedy Center in 2023.
Today, Ms. Belton teaches violin & viola at Suitland High School. She serves as a violinist with the Go-Go Symphony Orchestra and is a member of the DC Tango Orchestra. She also runs her own music studio, Da Capo Music, where she teaches beginner, intermediate and advanced violin and beginner and intermediate piano to youth in DC, one of whom now attends Duke Ellington School of the Arts herself. Ms. Belton enjoys sharing her passion for violin and music with young people and watching them grow along the way.
