Meet your drum instructor, Scott Hafferkamp!
Scott Hafferkamp received his Bachelors of Music from
Bowling Green State University in 2002. During his time at BG he
performed in Balinese gamelan ensembles,
African drum ensembles, percussion ensembles, jazz combos, and big
bands. Scott has also performed in pit orchestras in nearly 30 different
musical theater productions. With 56 Daze (Knot magazine winner of
“Best of Weddings Hall of Fame Award”) he performs all year round
including in the past numerous times at Detroit Lions games, The House Of Blues, and also at The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Scott has also
released an album solely his project titled “100 Million Bright - Where You Begin And I Divide” on Rapture Heart Records in 2015, recorded for sync work,
and maintains an active schedule with numerous other creative projects. Scott’s emphasis with his teaching focuses on instilling the fundamentals while
also staying practical and keeping it fun. Main topics include reading, music theory, technique (hand & foot),grooves/patterns/styles, fills, solo
concepts/vocabulary, transcriptions, and general practice skills.
